Planning and Preparing

Something probably most people don’t like because it’s all behind the scenes. (It’s hard work and plus very time consuming.)

Planning and Preparing is just as important though as teaching it. Yep. You heard me right. I look at it like this. Whatever we do, we are doing it whole heartily unto the Lord. If we get into a classroom, Bible study, or whatever it might be and not know what we are going to say or do – it shows. Not coming prepared shows that we do not care or something else was more important. We should be able to teach with full confidence!

I know that my Youth Leader reads her Sunday School lesson three times in one week before she teaches it. First on Monday to read it. Wednesday to mediate and pray what to write about it. Saturday before she teaches it on Sunday morning so she can fully teach, understand it, and answer any questions the youth may have. Why? Because she’s been Planning and Preparing all week for her youth to know God’s Word. As she does this, she also lives out the Word and thinks upon it.

So when you feel like skipping over your preparation time or you feel like it’s not important that’s the devil right there. It is important and it doesn’t go unnoticed! Jesus sees everything.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:16 to do your best to present yourself to God as one approved. We need to be a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

Plan, prepare, and study your lessons or you can apply this to other areas in your life that you do. You cannot teach what you do not know. Always be prepared.
