JESUS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

Today was amazing. I had 21 students in my class!! They arrived at 8:30 a.m. (a whole hour early before class) afraid they would be late! I was glad though they showed up, participated, and learned.

Friendships have begun. ❤

I started teaching on Lazarus. I know they know absolutely nothing about the Bible. So I don’t want to come across as “preaching” to them, so I go about it like a classroom setting. We read a true story (John 11:1-44) and answer the questions I ask them about writing them in full sentences.

It literally broke my heart today when one of my friends I made from last year make a certain comment. (First of all it’s amazing that she came by herself. She’s super shy and that was a big step for her. Also SHE WALKED to Church this morning so that’s why she was actually an hour late. She was too scared to take the taxi by herself. Bless her heart.) Her comment was that she was going to hell. It startled me for we really weren’t talking specifically on hell. I didn’t even mention it. I went into how Lazarus died physically but what Jesus was telling Martha in verse 25 is that if you believe in Jesus you will always live. So the door opened and I took it.

I asked the students if they knew where they would spend eternity? They all just looked at me with wide eyes. I asked them if they died today, do they know for certain where they would go? Again my friend said hell. I said why? She said it just had to be that way. I told them nobody has to go to hell but can spend eternity in Heaven. It doesn’t have to be that way!!! It’s a choice. Another student said she was going to Paradise cause she was an angel. I asked her if she was 100% sure and she looked at me with hopelessness.

You could just feel the conviction in the room and it was so quiet. I had their attention. I told them I didn’t come all the from America to just teach them English. I came all this way to tell them about Jesus. I want to share the Gospel with you and tell you how Jesus changed my life!!

Leaving on a positive note, because I went way too long and we ran out of time for games – oops, I told them next week we will read and finish learning about Lazarus, the true power of God, and my personal experience of how Jesus changed my life!!

Lunch was eaten, selfies taken, and I will see them all on Wednesday.

I couldn’t be more excited. I’m crying typing this out for this is why I am here. To reach these students and tell them there is a Savior out there that loves them, died for them, and wants to save them from hell. Jesus can change your life!!
