A Different Custom
So before we go into a building or a house, we always take off our shoes! Anybody who knows me, knows that I love wearing shoes all the time and also socks.
In Thailand it’s the complete opposite. It’s a pain to wear lace up shoes, so it’s best to wear shoes that you can slip on and off (plus socks just make your feet even more sweaty). I hate the feeling though when you’re walking around the floor and you get food crumbs and gravel stuck to the bottom of your feet. Haha
Thank God we don’t have to take them off at the Grocery Stores! You do, however, have to take them off when you’re going to a Floating Market.
Tomorrow I will explain what a Floating Market is!
I believe in Thailand this custom is to show humility and respect.
I’m with you, Morgan! Gotta have my shoes on!
