Safest Place doesn’t mean Comfy Place

The safest place in the whole wide world is to be in the will of God.

Can we all say Amen! But what we don’t put together is that this does not mean it’s the most comfortable or most convenient place to be.

It is the safest place to be. There is a difference. You’re always secure in the palm of His hand. He walks with you. He talks with you. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy all the time. It doesn’t mean it’s convenient. Actually being in the center of God’s will for our lives can be getting down on our knees begging God what to do next, where to turn or go, and sometimes it means just being still until the storm passes and the sky clears up holding onto His hand.

Sometimes you will feel absolutely confident. You will feel happy. You feel like you’re on top of the mountain! And you should!!

Sometimes though you will feel all alone in the valley. Wondering how many nights will pass of restless sleep, tears falling, and unanswered questions. And when we have done everything right, we still wonder why?

God’s Will is not the definition of, “Everything is going to be easy”, but the definition of, “He is holding you no matter what”.

God often draws us out of our comfort zone to stretch us so that we will rely on Him. What would become of us if we depended on self? That is when we become unsafe.

Be encouraged to stay in God’s will where He wants you. Help others to stay in His will for their own lives as well. Paul says to do this in Hebrews 3:13. It’s a big unity circle, not a fighting rink.

*Teaching the Community Children is my favorite thing to do!! However, what you don’t see here is the filth and the trash they live in. You don’t smell the urine and all the spoiled food from the trash. We sometimes remove glass off the ground and lay a tarp down so we don’t have to sit in the dirt. This is where I feel safe.

  2. We just read your March 12th post. AMEN! We are praising God for your life, that you are following after Him, and doing His will for your life. Your Word of Truth Family is praying for you. We are glad that our three daughters have someone like you to look up to. You have been a great influence on them, and your faithfulness to God’s call impacts them and us as parents. It is hard for me to imagine, but someday I too will be like your dad, watching my children go out into the world. Seeing and knowing you are in God’s will, may not be the most comfortable place, but it is the best place to be. That is what I want for my daughters too. God Bless you and your ministry time in Thailand!

    1. I’m so sorry I’m so late into replying. I have a hard time figuring out how to reply on this blog but I think I finally got it! 🙂 I appreciate your prayers so much and for such a great Church and body of Christ to support me! Your three daughters are adorable and I loved getting their letters! I feel so bad that I didn’t get to reply to their last ones before I left for I got extremely sick for 3 weeks and I got so behind on everything before I left. To be honest, it definitely wasn’t easy to surrender and also harder for my parents to surrender as well, but the Lord is so good and so faithful I know that He has me right where He wants me to be. Your message truly encouraged me so thank you so much for taking the time to reach out! God bless you all!

  3. Morgan, I have been so blessed AND impressed reading your blog. I got a late start and had to read several to catch up, but once I started I had to keep reading! Your honesty is so refreshing (and funny sometimes) and your transparency in sharing the real work of the missionary is eye opening for those of us back home in our “comfortable” places. But we know that God has been preparing you for just this very moment in time where you are obeying His call on your life! Our church family is praying for you, and send much love!!

    1. Thank you so much, Sis. Karen! I truly appreciate all your prayers and support. It’s hard being honest sometimes because people know what I’m truly thinking or going through. Haha But amen, I know God has been preparing me for this and still working on me daily! Sending much love back!!
