DAILY Pick Up Your Cross
A year ago today, I did something I never thought I would be able to do. A year ago today, I never thought I would be where I am now.
I wanted to share what I wrote just because it’s still a great reminder.
“I loved doing this Savage Race with my friends and coming together to finish it! Especially doing it with my brothers making unforgettable memories.
Few hours later, going up a hill for the 6th or 7th time – I’m dead. I’m tired. I’m worn out. And then we get to the beams. We have to finish climbing up the hill and back down with it on our shoulders.
As I was picking up the beam, I’m praying, “Lord, why do we have to do this now? I don’t have any strength left. I’m already beat.” (Like it was His idea to do this race in the first place.) But as I put it on my shoulders, walking up the hill I started to tear up. Jesus was beaten, spit upon, and whipped for me. After that, He had to pick up His Cross and carry it up the hill of Golgotha. For a moment there I got a glimpse of how we are supposed to “pick up our cross” DAILY and follow Him.
No, it’s not easy. It hurt. No, it’s not what you feel like doing everyday. It was uncomfortable. When you’re already beaten, when you feel like you have no strength left to even take another step, let me just remind you – He is always with you! When we are weak – He IS strong!!
Continue to pick up YOUR cross daily. When you see others beside you laying theirs down, walking without it, not being faithful, YOU be the one to keep marching on, hanging on to it with all of your might and Jesus will take care of the rest. He already did.” ✝️
