Happy 20 Years – WOLCC

A little bit about my background…

When I was four years old my family moved to Marion, OH where God called my Daddy to plant a church – Word of Life Christian Center.

My home church, WOLCC, is celebrating 20 years today!! I’m sad I’m not able to be there in person today. I wish with all my heart I could be, but I’m also extremely thankful that WOLCC is my main support for doing missions in Thailand. Without you all, I couldn’t be where I am today.

20 years of God’s goodness.

20 years of God’s faithfulness of making old things become new.

20 years of serving our Lord together as a family.

I’m about to start my own service as y’all are going to bed, then twelve hours later you’ll start yours. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. 20 years to call Word of Life Christian Center my Church but it’s more than that, it’s my home.

I remember as a little girl walking down to church with my Daddy on those crooked sidewalks and hearing the birds chirping. We first rented a building on Bellefontaine Ave. It was there I learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. I will never forget having to set up and tear down the entire church every weekend wrapping up those green rugs and having a chair line.

We then moved to a white Church not on the other side of the tracks but in between the tracks. When my Daddy and I drove up to it I have to admit I didn’t like it at first. But now I wouldn’t trade it for any place in the world!! To me it’s more than just a church building though. So many encounters I’ve had there with the Lord were in that place. So many altar calls getting filled with the Holy Ghost are in that place. So many times I would have a bad day and walk into the sanctuary and no one else was there, but God was. I could just feel His presence and it would bring overwhelming comfort to my soul. So many counseling sessions in Girl’s Only are in that place. This is also the place where I felt God call me into missions sitting on one of those green padded folding chairs in Star’s Club. This is the place where I would raise my hands during worship and hear Bro. Ron shout to God in praise. (He was like a Grandpa to me.) I can’t wait to see him in Heaven one day for I know that’s what he’s doing right now – praising the Lord! This is the place where I love to teach my Ranger Kids who come from broken homes and families.

Word of Life Christian Center – I hope you all have a blessed Sunday remembering all that the Lord has done for us. It’s been a true blessing for me growing up as a Pastor’s daughter. I love serving the Lord together as a family. I’m humbled and honored to be a part of WOLCC.

Most of all I want to say thank you to my Daddy! The best Pastor in the world leading us as a shepherd should lead his flock, preaching the Truth, and having so much compassion. I love you Daddy and thank you for being my Pastor too!

Be blessed Word of Life celebrating 20 years today!!

*I am 5 years old soon to be 6 in this picture. I still have this Bible in my keepsake box. And yes – I’m still obsessed with hats and dresses.
