Jesus IS my Happy Ending – So Keep Living!
I know there is such a variety of ages and different walks of life that read this blog, but today I want to speak from one single person to another from my heart.
So many ladies, including me, want to live a “Happily Ever After” life right? Of course we do!!! That’s like a dream come true!
You want to meet the most perfect guy that you can take cute pictures with and post on social media. Go out on a fun picnic and finish the day with a long drive in the countryside listening to your favorite music. You want to get all dressed up, try a new fancy restaurant, while he’s making you laugh the entire evening long.
But that isn’t you is it? Actually you feel like something’s wrong with you because you have no one at all or you can’t find someone to live up to the standards you live by – whatever the reason may be. You feel completely useless and alone.
I find it’s personally because I don’t want to be alone. I hate being alone. I’m an extrovert. I love being with people. (Don’t get me wrong though because at the end of the day I do love my quiet time.) Most of the time though, I want to go to that special person and tell him everything.
I find that social media can play a role in this. Remember what I said earlier about posting pictures with him? Because in all honesty, I don’t like the world knowing I’m alone. I want people to know I’m wanted. I want people to know I’m cherished and loved by someone. At least that’s the way I want to feel. People say the cliché, “Your time will come.” Honestly, they don’t know that. They just say it to try to cover up the hurt they don’t feel themselves.
I was reading my Bible and then it hit me, “Jesus IS my Happy Ending.”
Hebrews 12:2 “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the throne of God.”
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
It’s Jesus Who is the author of our faith and perfecter of our faith! It’s Jesus Who writes our story! It’s Jesus Who we are living for until the very end of our lives! It’s Jesus Who will never leave us nor ever change!
We are just passing through this life. Jesus lived His life with joy set before Him even though He knew the cross was coming. But He also knew His story didn’t end there. He knew He would be at the right hand of God forever.
Also if you feel useless because you’re single – that’s a lie from Satan. This is such a precious time between you and the Lord to grow closer to Him. And who says you can’t live for God or do what He wants you to do unless you have a partner? (speaking to Morgan Mauldin now)
In the end, it’s all Jesus. He is the most important love relationship we could ever have that will last forever – eternity. It’s in the end we want Him to say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant,” not because of a relationship we had with someone else, but because with what we have with Him.
His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on me.
So if you’re single, dating, or even married, know that in the end it’s all about Jesus!
Single people – stop fretting or worrying what the future holds when Jesus is already there. I know, it’s easier said than done. I’m with you too. Go to the Lord and tell Him everything. A guy once told me, “Don’t ever back down on your convictions for someone else,” and then I watched him walk away. Focus on your love relationship with Christ for that’s where it’s going to help us make the difference in others lives and also in our very own.
You are wanted. You are cherished. You are loved. You are not alone. When we see Jesus face to face – it’s going to be worth it! He IS our happy ending! So keep living!!
