Well folks, I have to say this has been one crazy ride! I wanted to update you all on my blog book journey.
Because of COVID-19, the publisher I was going through shut down. They directed me to another company and the man basically laughed at me, telling me it was impossible for the type of book I wanted with the budget I had. I have to admit, I was pretty discouraged at this point but that wasn’t stopping me. I went and started taking pictures of the back of my books of all the publishing companies to give me some type of lead. Basically they were all like, “Don’t contact us. We will contact you.” Dead end after dead end.
I have now contacted and talked with twenty publishers and I’m going on number twenty-one. I found a self-publishing website and decided to pursue it. I had to redesign the entire layout of my book because they wouldn’t print a 7×9. Long story short, it wouldn’t upload my book when there’s no reason why it shouldn’t have AND I got locked out of my account for two weeks. Nothing seems to be going right…at all…this year. (Haha) But I kept praying, working, waiting, and waiting some more. In that two-week time span, I felt like all I have worked on came to a complete dead end and there was nothing I could do to fix it. Then out of nowhere, people started giving and donating money towards my book, my account got unlocked, I was able to upload my book, design the cover template, and I now have my first printed proof on its way!!
GOD IS SO GOOD!!!! When it’s God’s timing – it always happens and it happens fast. I’m super excited!!! I’m really, really praying that this goes through! If everything goes smoothly, I will have my book published in four months!! All glory to God!
When I first started writing my blogs, I had no idea what I was doing…and still don’t. (Haha) But publishing a book is a lot more work than I ever thought it would be. There are just too many little obstacles that I have had to learn and push through. I’m reading a Lysa Terkeust book now and she thought the hardest part about publishing a book was writing it but found out after she was denied again and again that there’s more to it. That encouraged me a lot knowing how good of an author she is now. Even the popular people who look like they have it all together had to start somewhere and go through struggles!
I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has prayed, supported, and gave to this project! I could not have done it without you! Now we just patiently wait for a few more months to receive the finished product – so please keep praying!
