My twin got me this necklace for my 25th birthday. The rose symbolizes our birth month and he chose the word “bloom” to be engraved on it. 🌹
“Bloom into the Christian you want to become.”
I think that this is something that’s easier said than done.
Becoming something and already being something are two different things. The word “becoming” means there’s a continual growing process…like blooming.
Someone once asked me, “If you could go back and change one thing that happened from your past, what would you change?” Several things popped into my head. Several people popped into my head. But I realized that all the hurt or struggles I’ve been through, have brought me to where I am now. So I actually don’t want to change one thing for I would miss all what God wanted me to learn and be at that moment.
Sometimes in this crazy thing called life, we miss the bigger picture of what God wants us to become because we are so focused on already being “the perfect person” that we have made up in our head.
Could it be that it’s in the blooming process that we learn Who God is and what He wants us to be for Him?
You, my friend, are responsible for how you bloom.
I believe it is so important what you feed yourself because that determines how you will grow. The music. The movies. The words you hear and speak. The people you hang around. It’s one continual cycle of what gets in your mind, will go to your heart and eventually that will come out of your mouth. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matthew 12:34 It becomes who you are.
Bloom into what you want to see yourself become.
My friend, sometimes we aren’t happy in the place where we have been planted. I can say the same for me. It’s not comfortable. It’s not where we wanted to be. It’s not what we imagined in our life or even prayed for. But I want to encourage you today to bloom anyway. Bloom into what you’ve always wanted to become. It takes work. It’s a growing process. It doesn’t happen over night. Stop comparing your life with other people’s. Be happy for them. Be happy for you!
I love Proverbs 3:17-18. “Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.” That’s what I want to be. When people cross my path they will sense peace and be blessed. That they know when they come to me, that I’m rooted in God’s Word and we can come together in prayer. That’s the type of life I want to live.
More importantly, bloom into what God wants you to become. He has created you. He had placed you exactly where He wants you. Stop fighting against Him. Be fully there where He has planted you. Bloom. Shine. Give. Love. Serve. That’s what He wants.
So to me this necklace has a lot of meaning. Yes, I love it because my twin designed it for me, but wearing it is a continual reminder that I want to bloom and become the person that God would want me to be.
One day you’re going to look back and see, all along you were blooming.
